COLD ROOM – Service Technician / Service Engineer 

Job Summary

The Cold Room Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cold rooms and refrigeration units. This role requires technical expertise in refrigeration systems to ensure optimal temperature control for the preservation of perishable goods. The technician will work in various locations, including warehouses, food processing plants, and retail environments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Technical diploma or certification in Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience working with refrigeration systems, cold rooms, or HVAC equipment.
  • Driving: Singapore Class 3 driving license. (Preferred)
  • Fluent in English both spoken & written for report updates.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Installation and Setup
    • Assemble and install cold room refrigeration systems according to specifications and safety regulations.
    • Ensure proper setup, wiring, and functionality of equipment during installation.
    • Calibrate systems for optimal temperature and performance.
  2. Maintenance and Servicing
    • Conduct regular maintenance checks on cold room systems, including cleaning filters, inspecting wiring, and replacing worn-out parts.
    • Perform diagnostic tests to identify system issues and prevent downtime.
    • Document maintenance activities and ensure equipment is compliant with safety standards.
  3. Troubleshooting and Repair
    • Diagnose issues in refrigeration and cold room systems, such as leaks, temperature inconsistencies, or equipment malfunctions.
    • Use testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults and determine corrective actions.
    • Repair or replace defective components, ensuring minimal impact on the cold room environment.

Skill Set:

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration principles and handling of refrigerants.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements in refrigeration

Work Environment

Work involves frequent visits to various industrial, commercial, and retail locations. Safety equipment, including gloves and protective eyewear, may be required, depending on the job site.
